The app says "Rendering is delayed". What does that mean?
Your film is made on our render machine, and it hasn't checked in for a few minutes. Nothing is wrong with your film. It will start as soon as the machine is back. If it waits more than an hour we stop it and give your credits back.
Why is my film still "Queued"?
Films are made one at a time, oldest first. Yours starts when the ones ahead of it finish. The Render panel shows your place in line.
A correctness check stopped my film. What now?
Every film goes through checks before you get it, and the message on the film says which one stopped it and why. Change the story (for example the years or the view) and try again. A film that fails a check does not use your credits.
Do I get my credits back?
Yes when a film fails, or when you cancel it before it has started: the credits held for it are released straight away. Credits for a film that finished are used.
My own data (spreadsheet) won't read.
Ryagram reads spreadsheets (CSV and similar files). If the file can't be read you'll see why, and the file is deleted automatically. Your uploaded data is always deleted once it has been used; none of it is kept.
I can't sign in, or I forgot my password.
Use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in screen and follow the email. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then write to us from the form below.
How do I report a film?
Every public film page has a "Report this film" link, or use the report form. For reports about child safety, private information, harassment or copyright we hide the film right away while we review it.
How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Ryagram?
Open Account, then Connected AIs, then Connect an AI. Copy the connector address shown there (use all of it, including the /mcp at the end). In Claude choose Customize, Connectors, + Add, Add custom connector, and paste it; if Claude asks how it should identify itself, choose Register automatically. In ChatGPT choose Settings, Apps or Connectors, Create (custom MCP). Press Allow when asked and your AI appears in the list.
Custom connectors work only on some ChatGPT plans, and the option can sit behind Developer mode. If you see no option, ChatGPT cannot connect on that plan.
Can I change my film's colours and look before it renders?
Yes, in the editor. Drag the slider through the years and the preview redraws as you change the look: the page colour, the theme where the film has a light one, and for most maps the low and high colours. Nothing is sent to the server and no credits are used while you try things. The real film is made only when you press the render button, and it still goes through the usual checks.
Maps that colour each area in solid bands, and bar races, show their colours but cannot change them yet: the page colour still works. On a white page the bands of a banded map sit close together, so differences are hard to see.
Can I get my data back?
Yes. "Download this dataset" gives you the file exactly as you gave it, plus a receipt: your name for it, its size and fingerprint, when you ticked "I understand", and for a fetched file where it came from, when, and under what licence. "Download my account file" gives the same for everything on your account. The file is built in your browser from things your account can already read.
What is a song film?
A song film is built from the words of a song. For each word, Ryagram looks in your own videos for a real moment where that word is said, and cuts it to the beat of the music you pick. It is made on your own computer, in the Ryagram app, and the words, your videos and the music stay there.
A film made today is a first cut for you to look at, not a finished music video.
What is a stand-in in a song film?
Sometimes the person singing a line does not say one of its words in your videos. When the setting for it is on, Ryagram can use another person from the same videos who does say that word, and the clip says whose voice it borrowed. The "Why this clip" panel tells you when this happened.
Why are some words sped up, and can I limit it?
A word that is said slowly in your videos is sped up so that it lands on its beat. On the song screen in the Ryagram app, "Most a word may be sped up" takes a number from 1 to 6, or nothing for no limit. With a limit, the maker picks another take of that word when one needs less speeding up. A word with only one take may still be sped up.
What are lyric cards?
A lyric card is the card that shows the line being sung. In the editor you can choose one of three looks: Plate (the singer's name above the line, centred), Bar (the name and the line set left beside a bar of colour) or Sing-along (the name in a pill, with the word being sung lit up). Your choice is saved with the film. Song films do not draw these cards yet, so a film made today looks the same whichever you pick.
What does "internal only" mean for song films?
A song film is for you to look at. The song screens do not publish anything, send anything to anyone, or post anywhere for you. A person looks at each film before it goes anywhere.
Still stuck?
If you are signed in, open Get help in the app: it attaches the film you came from, so we can look into it (we never see its contents). Otherwise write to ryagram@uselai.com. We reply within 2 working days.
